How to Write a Useful Wholesale Product Inquiry on WhatsApp

A good first message identifies one product, asks decision-changing questions, and avoids sending personal or payment information too early.

Treat the chat as a record, not proof

A message thread can preserve what was asked and answered. It does not confirm that the account belongs to the person or business claimed, that an item exists, or that a payment route is protected. Compare the number and profile with the current public page you intended to contact, and keep unexplained changes visible.

Do not send identification documents, card details, passwords, one-time codes, wallet credentials, or unnecessary personal information in an initial product inquiry.

Use a four-message conversation instead of one wall of text

  1. Identity

Send one full item URL, exact product code, color or model, size if relevant, and intended quantity.

  2. Current facts

Ask availability, unit price and currency, minimum, quote date, and which inclusions the number covers.

  3. Evidence

Ask for the item-specific size chart or measurements, useful QC angles, packed weight, and parcel dimensions.

  4. Responsibility

Ask which service handles payment, order records, shipping, disputes, and any later support.

Three first messages for three different situations

Known product code

“Hello. I am checking code [code] at [URL], color [x], size [y], quantity [z]. Is this exact variant available, and what is the current unit price, currency, MOQ, and quote date?”

Size question first

“Before I compare price, please confirm whether the chart belongs to this exact item and whether the values are garment or body measurements. Which method is used for chest and length?”

Shipping estimate first

“For [quantity] units to [country/region], please separate estimated item weight, packed weight, parcel dimensions, route, and quote validity. Which values are estimates?”

Read the quality of the reply—not the speed alone

Keep the chat comparable across suppliers

Use the same product brief and question order for every contact. Record the public page where the number appeared, the date, the account name as displayed, and each answer’s scope. Do not copy one supplier’s claims into another supplier’s row.

If the conversation switches to another number, account, payment name, or domain, treat that as a new handoff and recheck the relationship before continuing.

A WhatsApp button should not promise an outcome

Natural button text such as “Ask about MOQ” or “Send product code for a quote” is appropriate only when a verified responsible contact is actually configured for that specific function. This independent guide does not publish a supplier WhatsApp number or send inquiries.

Use the longer worksheet to prepare the exact fields before contacting the party responsible for the product.
